Project Overview

The challenge is to integrate a novel EV drivetrain into an existing ICE vehicle in minimum time and without benefit of development testing.  The solution is to integrate multi-disciplinary simulation into the design process.

  • Multibody dynamics simulation to develop a loads map prior to design
  • Structural and vibration simulation to position the mounts and maximize performance
  • Stress and durability modeling integrated with topology optimization to develop an ideal design before drawing the CAD
  • Prototype fabrication and track test validation to prove it all works
